Purpose

To produce varied multimedia content explaining the LHC for young audiences and to engage young people in the process

Information

The ATLAS collaboration held a multi-media contest in 2010 to produce short explanatory videos for young audiences on topics related to the ATLAS experiment and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. All videos were submitted by persons not affiliated with ATLAS or CERN.
 
The first prize winner one an intership with the ATLAS collaboration at CERN.
The winning videos were showcased on a special ATLAS Multimedia Contest web page. http://www.atlas.ch/contest/index.html#5
 
The top 6 videos were awarded prizes as follows:
The Higgs Prize for the first place
The Proton Prize for second place
The Electron Prize for third place
The Neutrino Prize for fourth place
The Quark Prize for fifth place
The Lepton Prize for sixth place
