Purpose

A presentation to explain why physicists and the world's media got excited about the discovery of the Higgs boson. Biased towards CMS. Talk given in Taiwan to 600 undergraduate and high-school students.

Information

A simple presentation to explain the excitement surrounding the discovery of the Higgs boson. Borrows heavily from other presentations but adds lots of animation. Two versions are included: one is in English only; the other is in English and traditional Chinese. Talk was given in Taiwan in October 2013 and is geared towards a Taiwanese audience, including the participation of the Taiwanese groups in the CMS experiment.
