Information

Extract from the preface to the first English edition :

For over ten years primary and junior high schools have been visiting the Frascati National Laboratories (LNF) of the Italian National Institute of Nuclear
Physics (INFN), welcomed by willing searchers who accompany them to explore the experimental areas. From Here to the Big Bang arose from a lecture given on the platform in front of the KLOE experiment during the European Researchers’ Night, on September 28, 2007.

The challenge was to write a book that would explain “hard science” to children trying to satisfy, at least in part, the curiosity they express in a thousand questions: “But how can scientists see what you can’t see?” or “how did scientists dream up the idea of the Big Bang?” And again, “But what’s the point of all this research?”
