International Cosmic Day 2026: explore the Universe through cosmic rays

On 19 November 2026, students and teachers from around the world will come together for the International Cosmic Day (ICD), a global event dedicated to exploring cosmic rays and the particles that reach us from space.

This month, IPPOG is delighted to feature Gediminas Sarpis, a CERN Research Fellow working within the LHCb collaboration. His research focuses on CP violation in charm, but his work extends well beyond the laboratory: from 2022 to 2025, he served as the LHCb Outreach Convener and has been involved in numerous science communication projects.
