With the beginning of 2026, IPPOG enters a new phase marked by continuity, renewal, and a strengthened Coordination Team (CT). Following an active and impactful 2025, these changes aim to support the growing scope of IPPOG activities and prepare the collaboration for an exciting year ahead.
As of January 2026, the new term of the IPPOG Co-Chairs officially begins. Anja Kranjc Horvat and Steven Goldfarb take over the role, building on the solid foundations laid by Claire Adam and Pedro Abreu during the past three years.
IPPOG warmly thanks Claire and Pedro for their dedication, leadership, and vision, which have significantly contributed to the collaboration’s growth and visibility worldwide. The Coordination Team is now fully in place, ensuring continuity across IPPOG’s core activities: Fabiola Cacciatore (Scientific Secretary), Hanife Olgunsoy (Finance Officer) and Despina Hatzifotiadou (Chair of Speaker and Publication Committee). The past year was also marked by valuable contributions behind the scenes. In 2025, IPPOG hosted Hector Pillot as a Master’s student, whose work on the IPPOG Resources Portal significantly enhanced its structure, usability, and content.
With just over a month to go before the start of the International Masterclasses, the IPPOG community is once again preparing for one of its flagship activities. As every year, we look forward to receiving photos, videos, stories, and feedback from institutes and participants around the world, capturing the excitement of hands-on particle physics.
On behalf of the full Coordination Team, we thank all members of the IPPOG Forum for their past, present, and future contributions. We warmly encourage everyone to continue sharing IPPOG’s mission, especially with new members and early-career colleagues interested in outreach, education, and public engagement.
