Highlights from the 28th IPPOG Meeting at CERN

Last week the IPPOG collaboration held the autumn meeting at CERN. With over 80 registrations, this gathering provided a valuable opportunity for members and outreachers to reconnect in person after months of virtual interactions.

Day 1: November 25 - Working Groups and Steering Groups Meeting
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the work of the Working Groups and Steering Groups.

Day 2: November 26 - Main Meeting and Panel Discussion
The main meeting started with reports from the Core Team and Working and Steering Groups.
Following, there have been sessions dedicated to the news form Members Activities and, in the afternoon, a session dedicated to news form pur partners.

As final session we had a very interesting Panel Discussion about the Open Science.

Day 3: November 274 - Morning: Inspirational Success Stories
The final day commenced with Inspirational Success Stories, where contributors shared remarkable achievements.

The Inspirational Success Stories of this meeting were:

  2. Markus Elsing (Communication and Outreach at the CERN Schools of Physics)
  3. Lukas Julian Exner (Tactile quark puzzle)
  4. Kirill Skovpen (Future Collider Experiment: an educational tool for graduate students)
  5. Simone Ragoni (Cosmic Piano: analysing the sound of the Universe)
  6. Raphael Granier De Cassagnac (Exographer, a videogame based on particle physics)
  7. Tadataka Hayashi (Accel Kitchen)
  8. Mihiro Nukiwa (Handmade Accelerator Bracelet)
  9. Claire David (Outreach in Congo RDC and South Africa)
  10. Khemakhmia Abdeslem (Experience from an Algerian Teacher)

Afternoon: Collaboration Board
The afternoon session hosted the Collaboration Board, where IPPOG members discuss on decisions and future plans for the organisation. As always, this session was crucial for shaping the direction of IPPOG and fostering collaboration among its members.
