Today, Yıldız Technical University continues its academic activities with more than 25,000 undergraduate students, more than 9,000 graduate students and around 1,700 academic staff. It has 11 faculties, 2 institutes and 3 colleges. Unlike many universities in Turkey, it was divided into 4 faculties at its foundation: electricity, construction, chemistry-metallurgy and machinery. In May 2012, Yıldız Technical University became Turkey's first fully ISO 9001 certified university

Yıldız Technical University (YTU) is a state university in Istanbul, Turkey, founded in 1911 under the name Conductor's Mekteb-i Âlîsi.

Yıldız Technical University was founded in 1911 under the name Conductor Mekteb-i Âlîsi, based on the curriculum of the "Ecol De Conducteur" in Paris to meet the needs of "Science Officers" (formerly called conductors, now called technicians). Today, the school has 2 campuses, one in Beşiktaş Yıldız and one in Esenler Davutpaşa. The idle Ayazağa campus is in the process of reconstruction. Yıldız and Davutpaşa campuses have been providing education since the Ottoman period.
