We have an excellent track record in teaching and research, alongside wider engagement with business and community. Our expertise spans computing, electronics, mathematics, physics, robotics and statistics, with a wide range of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The theoretical physics group has 8 permanent members. Our main research areas are: Lattice Field Theory, Quantum Field Theory at High Intensities, and Quantum Field Theory and Infra-Red Physics. Our research is supported by our own High Performance Computing facility. The supercomputer is a state of the art cluster comprising of more than 1700 cores connected by a switch for fast communication.
