The Department of Physics offers studies in a wide range of fields leading to Baccalaureate and Doctoral degrees. The Department has a diverse faculty pool with the majority of professors having their primary appointment in the Physics Department. A focus is placed on cross disciplinary research both worldwide and here at Yale University. Yale hosts many premier programs and institutes such as Wright Laboratory, Yale Quantum Institute and the Yale Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics. Outreach

The physics department at Yale hosts a number of different outreach programs designed to provide engaging scientific experiences for local youth. Many of these programs are offered annually, providing students, post docs, and faculty a wide array of opportunities to engage with the surrounding community.
