Research & Teaching

The Institute of Space Science (ISS) - subsidiary of INFLPR develops scientific research projects in fields such as astroparticle physics, high energy physics, astrophysics and cosmology, space plasma physics, as well as applied research activities, design and development of space technologies. ISS is involved in collaborations and partnerships of national and international prestige (like terrestrial experiments from CERN, FAIR-GSI, and the large collaborations of KM3NeT and the Pierre Auger Observatory), as well in space programs of ESA and NASA through missions such as Euclid, LISA, CLUSTER, SWARM, SMILE, THERMIS and MMS.

Outreach

The ISS is a research institute; we do have optionally, on voluntary basis, collaborations with students for practical work or thesis, or within outreach activities like the Auger MasterClass. We also do outreach activities, moreover on voluntary basis as well. Other activities are contributions to various public science festivals, like Astrofest, or Sci+Fi Fest, Bucharest Science Festival, or Different School Like, or the international MasterClass with the Pierre Auger Observatory, or the Artist residency program at scientific research institutes - within the Fusion:AIR project.
